30 Days of The Sleep Shirt

In July, I launched a series on Instagram Stories called 30 Days of The Sleep Shirt, where I styled a bunch of the pieces I've collected over the years.

I wanted to do the series as a lot of our customers tell us that they get more than 700 wears out of their nightshirts, but beyond just wearing them to sleep, I wanted to show just how easy it is to wear them as daywear. Here are a few of my favourites from the series; you can see the rest of them in our Instagram Highlights.

Flared Ruffle Nightie Black Linen (Spring 2020)

It took me awhile to figure out the best way to wear this nightie out, and I decided it's definitely belted, with chunky, strappy heels.

House Skirt White Linen & Cuffed Sleeve Top Blue Oxford Stripe 

These two styles have been on heavy rotation recently. The skirt is a slip-on piece (thank you, elastic waist back) and is an elevated substitute for lounge pants. I have been wearing this shirt the whole year, under knitwear in the winter and on its own in the warmer weather. I love the sleeve and the A-line shape, and so do our customers, which is why we expanded the size range and are repeating it again soon.

Belted Dress Blush Linen (Resort 2020) 

Unbelted, this dress looks like a 60s house dress, but belted, it looks more like a chic day dress. It would be great to wear to the office (if you still go to one!)

Classic Shirt Blue Oxford Stripe 

My fall/winter uniform in 2020 was jeans + the Classic Shirt + a sweater. I suspect I'll be repeating this in 2021.

Party Nightie Blue Gingham 

This dress is part of a collaboration we did with fellow Canadian designer Eliza Faulkner. I've been wearing mine to outdoor events over the summer and I'll be pairing it with heavy knitwear and thick tights once winter arrives.

Pocket Kaftan Black Linen 

This was designed as a lounge piece or a beach cover-up, but I love wearing it as a going out dress.

Long Sleeve Shirt Black Flannel 

Our biggest mistake of 2020 was not ordering enough of this super soft black flannel, because it sold out so quickly. Thankfully, we are back in stock, and my favourite piece is this long sleeve shirt, which works just as well as daywear as it does pyjamas.

Oversized Kaftan Big Tan Stripe (Pre Fall 2019)

I've worn this kaftan poolside in Vegas, to a flea market in France, and in the Swedish forest. When it is hot out, nothing beats a big, loose cotton/linen kaftan.

Gathered Neck Top White Linen & House Skirt White Linen

Head-to-toe white linen is as summery as you can get. If you can't get to the Greek Islands, then you can at least pretend you're there when you're wearing this outfit.

Short Sleeve Cropped Sleep Shirt Blue Oxford Stripe

This is our best selling pyjama top. It isn't a classic button down pyjama shirt and our customers love that it's a bit different. I have one that is part of a set, and one that I wear as a day shirt. Styling tip: always cuff the sleeves.
