Happy IWD from The Sleep Shirt & Howe Sound Women's Centre
The Sleep Shirt and Into the Bedroom are pleased to announce a collaboration with the Howe Sound Women’s Centre (HSWC), a grassroots organization in Squamish, BC, dedicated to the prevention of violence against women and support for women, children and youth impacted by violence or abuse.
Starting on March 8th, International Women’s Day, and lasting until the end of March, The Sleep Shirt will be donating 20% of all sales of their bestselling Short Sleep Shirt and Long Sleep Shirt in Blue Oxford Stripe to the HSWC.
Founder Alexandra Suhner Isenberg’s relationship with HSWC dates back to a time when she was only just beginning to envision the concept of The Sleep Shirt and living in Squamish, a small town between Vancouver and Whistler.
Her initial contact with the centre was centered around fundraising efforts where she would collect monetary donations at parties for it, and used her corporate contacts to get donations of beauty products and toiletries for the centre’s annual Christmas baskets. The Sleep Shirt has since also donated sleepwear to the centre.
“It is important to me that our company gives back in a way that reflects our collective values and part of our company charity policy is to work with a local organization. As a women-led company based in Vancouver, with almost all female employees, we want to give to an organization that works with women. Having been a resident of Squamish for several years, the Howe Sound Women’s Centre is close to my heart and I am thrilled to be working on a project that will raise funds for this wonderful organization.” - The Sleep Shirt Founder, Alexandra Suhner Isenberg (pictured above.)
