How to Care for your Sleep Shirt
The best way to make your Sleep Shirt last many long years is to take care of it properly. Here's how to wash your sleepwear.
Start by checking the label on the item you purchased. The majority of our items are machine washable, but some should be handwashed.
How to wash cotton and cotton blend sleepwear
Wash: In cold water. It's better for the environment and the fabric.
Cycle: Do a short one unless it really needs a good wash. The shorter the cycle, the less wear and tear on your clothes.
Drying: We recommend hanging your items on a hanger or drying rack and letting them air dry. If you are in a great rush, our sleepwear can usually handle a dryer on a low heat, but expect some shrinkage.
Ironing: We tend to avoid ironing our sleepwear because it gets creased in bed, but if you want to get rid of those wrinkles in the fabric, all of our cotton and linen sleepwear can be ironed on a high heat.
How to care for linen sleepwear
Wash: Handwash in cold water, please. But don't panic, most modern washing machines have a handwash cycle and that works just as well as actually washing with your hands. If you can't bear the thought of handwashing, or your machine doesn't have a handwash cycle, you can wash our linen sleepwear in the machine in cold water using a delicate cycle. But we don't recommend it, because the fabric wears out faster and there's a risk of the shapes becoming a bit distorted.

Other laundry tips for sleepwear
We don't recommend dry cleaning our sleepwear, ever. Dry cleaning is great for coats and suits and fancy dresses, but it uses a lot of harsh chemicals and no one wants those against your skin when you are sleeping.
Here are some other tips to ensure a long life for your sleepwear:
- Don't wash it too often, the more you wash it, the shorter the lifespan
- Use a mesh bag if you are washing your items with bulky clothing or items with a lot of hardware or buttons attached
- Don't overload your washing machine
- Store your sleepwear folded in a drawer rather than on a hanger
