New Collection: Lightweight Sleepwear for the bedroom and beyond in Spring 2019
Cotton nightdresses for spring
We're excited to introduce The Sleep Shirt's newest collection for Spring 2019. This collection has a large variety of nightshirts that double as day dresses, luxury beach kaftans, or oversized shirts to be worn as loungewear and beachwear for the warmer months ahead. Lightweight fabrics feature new textures, such as a striped seersucker and a velvet-like stripe shirting in fresh hues of blue, white and red inspired by dock lounging at the beach house.
We've designed two new nightshirts for Spring 2019 collection, The Long Sleeveless Sleep Shirt resembles a day dress with a shirt collar, a button down placket, and high slits on the sides. The pattern has been cut close to the body but with enough room so that the shirt can easily be worn in bed.

The Mid Sleeve Sleep Shirt was inspired by our founder Alexandra’s mother's preferred dress styles. The cocoon shape nightshirt has a collar stand with a short placket and a simple cuff. Featuring side pockets, this new nightshirt will be as comfortable in bed as it will thrown over a swimsuit.
Spring 2019 also sees the return of the Ankle Length Sleep Shirt, a popular shape launched two years ago, re-issued in a variety of cottons and linens. Based on a traditional nightshirt, this shape has been popular with customers for sleeping and as a light loungewear piece.
Fabrics for Spring 2019 are fresh, textured, and lightweight. The Blue and White Seersucker stripe is a key fabric with a crisp hand that is available in almost all of the season’s shapes. The Plush Stripe (shown above) is a lightweight pale blue and white cotton with a plushy velvet-like horizontal stripe.
Patterned fabrics for the season include a red on a white polka dot print, and the Blue Saturn Dot, a white shirting with a woven pattern that resembles small celestial planets. Spring calls for florals, so we're adding a bold vacation inspired print in two colours. Reminiscent of your favourite tropical beach destination, the Red Tropical Print and Blue Tropical Print are playful prints that have large palm leaf and floral designs throughout the fabric that will be available in limited quantities.
Our simpler fabrics include the Blue Linen, a 100% linen in a beautiful ocean tone and the White Royal Oxford, a textured cotton that appears regularly in The Sleep Shirt’s collections in different colours. As always, the classic nightshirt shapes will be available in a variety of the new fabrics and the new designs are available in the classics: Blue Oxford Stripe, Pink Oxford Stripe, and White Linen.
